The short version. Voxwiz sends recorded speech to our servers for transcription and translation. We store conversation messages, transcripts, and translations on the backend as well as conversation history on your device. You can delete a chat or your entire account at any time—see Deleting your data.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the Voxwiz mobile app, the Voxwiz website, and support conversations about those services. Voxwiz is operated by Flai Inc (“we,” “us,” or “our”) and is designed for people speaking together in different languages using one phone.
If you use another service through Voxwiz, such as an app store or sign-in provider, that service's own privacy notice also applies to its processing.
2. Information we handle
Account and profile
When you first open the app, it creates an anonymous account and a profile so the service can work without a sign-up screen. If you choose to link an account, we handle the identifiers and details needed for email, Google, or Apple sign-in, such as an email address or provider identifier. We also handle your profile name and language preferences.
Speech and conversation content
When you use the microphone, Voxwiz processes the audio you record, transcribed words, translations, language choices, and conversation information. If you give background when starting a chat, we also process that context, such as who you are speaking with, the topic, or a place you mention. We store the extracted context with the conversation on your device and backend, and can send it to our speech and translation providers to help interpret the conversation. The app sends recorded speech to our backend for speech recognition and translation. The backend stores audio files in cloud storage, message records in Firestore, and separate transcript records that can include translations in Firestore. The app also saves conversation history on your device so you can revisit it. If another person speaks into your phone, their speech is processed in the same way; please let them know before recording.
Device, diagnostics, and purchases
We handle device and app details such as device identifiers, model, operating system, app version, and technical connection data to run and protect the service. Crash reports and error diagnostics help us fix problems. If you subscribe, we receive subscription status and transaction identifiers from the app store and our purchase service; the app store handles your payment details.
Support and website
If you contact us, we handle the information you send and the details needed to respond. Our website hosting provider may process ordinary request data, such as IP address, browser information, and access logs, to serve and secure the site.
3. How we use information
- Transcribe speech, translate it, and play translated text aloud.
- Create and maintain accounts, profiles, preferences, and conversation history.
- Provide subscriptions, restore purchases, and respond to support requests.
- Diagnose failures, prevent misuse, protect the service, and meet legal obligations.
You can turn off microphone access in your device settings, but voice translation will not work without it. You are responsible for obtaining any consent required to record another person.
5. Storage, security, and retention
The app stores conversation and exchange records on your device. During recording it may also keep a temporary audio file on the device for upload recovery. The backend stores audio files in cloud storage and message records, original transcripts, and translations in Firestore.
We keep information as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. Backups and technical records may also remain as required for security and legal compliance. For how to delete your chats or account, see Deleting your data. We use security measures to protect information, but no system can be guaranteed completely secure. Avoid using Voxwiz to share information you would not want processed by a cloud translation service.
6. Deleting your data
Deleting a chat
Deleting a chat will delete it from your device and our backend. There is no way to recover it after deletion.
Deleting your account
Account deletion is available from the Settings page in the app. It removes all your personal data, including chats and login information, from the device as well as from our backend. There is no way to retrieve a deleted account.
7. Your choices and rights
You can change microphone permission in your device settings and edit your profile and language choices in the app. To delete an individual chat or your account, see Deleting your data.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, object to certain uses of, or request deletion of personal information. Email us at support@voxwiz.app to make a request or ask about retention. We may need to verify your identity before acting.
8. International transfers
Our providers and servers may process information in countries outside your own. Contact us if you have questions about where your information is processed.
9. Children
Voxwiz is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Local laws may require a higher minimum age.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Voxwiz changes. We will post the revised policy here with a new date and provide additional notice where required. Questions or privacy requests: support@voxwiz.app.
